One word, stressed.
With hometowns on the horizon, everyone is stressed. The final six land in Lima, Pura and Peter pleasantly surprises them at the hotel. He tells them he wants everyone to be truthful and honest with themselves about the process. It becomes a big theme for Peter in this episode and he keeps repeating how he needs to be honest with himself too.
The first one on one goes to Madison. The last one on one she had with Peter was in the very first episode where they went to his Mom and Dad’s wedding vow renewal ceremony (LOL). They walk the streets of Lima and he expresses that he can see her being his best friend and wife in life. Later on at dinner, she opens up about her strong faith and how it’s a deal breaker for her. Peter and her discuss their future and it goes well. He then says he’s falling in love with her and gives her a rose. It was precious.

Natasha get’s the next one on one. This is her first one on one with Peter and it was obvious she was going home pretty quick. It’s clear their relationship is less romantic and more of a platonic friendship. He let’s her go at the end of the date and she is sad that she didn’t get more time with him earlier in the season.
Next, Kelsey get’s her second one on one. The date was outdoorsy and filled with four wheelers and running up hills?? I’m not sure about that. Later on at the dinner, she brought up her family and the complexities. It felt like an honest, real conversation in my opinion. He ends the date by giving her a rose and she shouts “We’re going to Iowa!” Her excitement broke my heart because I already know that breakup will be rough for her.

The remaining three girls are Victoria F, Hannah Ann, and Kelley but only two roses are left for hometowns. They have a three on one date that had the most awkward setting of a large garden? Like how did sound not travel? Hannah Ann goes and talks to him first. She truly knows how to win this game and whips out a “love note” on the reasons she’s falling for him. Peter just eats this up and her place on the show is saved. Peter then is taken by Victoria who comes with the complete opposite energy. She starts off their time with “Why are you always in a mood with me?” If it were me I would have just sent her home right then. Peter has to be cringing watching his dates with Victoria back now. She cries a lot, no shocker there. She says she doesn’t want to make it to the end then lose him. She’d rather just lose him now. Just before I couldn’t take anymore of her BS he goes and talks to Kelley.
Mind you, Hannah Ann just wrote him a love note and Victoria cried in his arms about how she doesn’t want to lose him. Kelley comes in with the completly wrong strategy of being the fun, chill girl. Peter is feeling hyper emotional and wants that emotion from her. She does the opposite and is like “Peter, sometimes relationships can be fun.” He gets pissed. How dare she, a strong, independent attorney think a healthy, adult relationship is fun and easy.
You think for a second he is sending home Victoria because he walks her to the van but he still ends up giving her a rose and then comes back to give Hannah Ann the other rose. She cries to herself while he walks Kelley to the car. For once, I felt she was relatable. She just had to sit through a 3-5 hour date probably not knowing if she would make it and then finally gets the answer and let’s all her emotions out that she was holding in and I weirdly felt like I would probably do the same. It would be so hard to not lose it while constantly waiting and being on edge.

Back to Kelley leaving. She is frustrated and mad. She gets a bad cut from producers making her seem a bit meaner than she really is. In reality, she calls Peter out on his BS and says that she was the last real girl left. She wasn’t totally wrong.
The previews for the next episode look pretty good. We see Victoria drama before they even go visit her parents. Then a sneak peak into Madison finally admitting she’s a virgin to the sex crazed Peter. I think Hannah Ann and Kelsey’s hometowns will be sweet and normal. I can see him dragging Victoria to the final three because he just loves emotional roller coasters. I think something happens after the final episode in real life that they are now editing on to the series. I’m hoping that thing is Hannah B. If not I think it could also be Madison leaving right when he’s about to propose. Then Peter having to go chase after her. Madison really gives me Cassie vibes from Colten’s season. I didn’t find her appealing until after the season ended. I guess we’ll just have to buy some cheap wine and keep our Monday nights free to find out.
