An African American washerwomen rises from poverty to build a beauty empire and become the first female self-made millionaire. Based on a true story.
Why I Love It… because it makes me proud to be a woman working in business. This is brand new on Netflix and I will say I watched it all in one night. Octavia Spencer plays Sarah Breedlove, a poor women who is looking for a bigger life in the early 1900s. Tiffany Haddish plays the funny daughter which I loved watching because she normally stars in comedies. This show highlights the fight women endured at this time, specifically African American Women in the work place. It will make you laugh, cry, and want to hop off your couch to follow your own dreams!
3 Seasons, Historical Drama, 1950s-1970s
A drama follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and the events that shaped the second half of the century.
Why I Love It… because it’s a glimpse into the early royal life of Queen Elizabeth II. The first season alone cost a reported $130 million dollars to make. The costumes and set are outstanding. This is a historical time piece that is DONE WELL. I’ve never been deeply interested in the royal family let alone the Queen but this gave me a new found respect for her. It’s interesting to see what she was dealing with personally while other world events were happening.

6 Seasons, Comedy Drama, 2010s
Amid relationship woes and personal attacks from a wicked cheerleading coach, a teacher fights to turn underdog glee club members into winners.
Why I Love it… because it’s a hilarious comedy about the hardships of high school. The show was quote unquote very woke before that word was ever being used, while also being unpolitcally correct. It’s techicanlly a drama which is why it’s the best to binge but the passive jokes make me laugh out loud. Yes, it’s also a musical which normally turns people off of the show but they are the best 2000s songs with a mix of classic hits so how can you hate on that?? Most of the time its ironically related to the show. Let me just leave you with the fact that they have a character in a wheel chair sing “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John.

Set in 1960s New York City, this award-winning series takes a peek inside an ad agency during an era when the cutthroat business had a glamorous lure.

It’s a drama series about the 60s in New York that will make you want to apply to an ad agency and smoke a cigar after a week of watching. The drama follows the professional and personal life of Creative Director, Don Draper. There are betrayals, romance, and dirty business. If you work in an large office you will appreciate the show 5x more.
