Nothing makes me think of summer and friends than The Best Bruschetta Recipe. If you don’t love bruschetta yet, you will make you fall in love. I wasn’t always a huge tomato fan but this recipe made me appreciate fresh tomatoes.
This recipe is great for entertaining your friends and family. It doesn’t take many ingredients and it’s generally healthy so many people will try it. If you’re gluten free, swap your favorite gluten free bread with this recipe.
The first thing you should do for this recipe is find a quality baguette. I like using french bread personally. I recommend buying the day of if not the day before you know you will use it to ensure freshness. Before putting it in the oven, slice the bread down and drizzle lightly in olive oil on both sides before cooking.
Not required but if you love garlic, try this tip! Peel a fresh garlic clove and rub the fresh garlic against each piece of bread before cooking it. This will add a depth of flavor to the overall dish.
When using basil, make sure you do not keep it in the fridge! This will make it go bad very fast. Keep it in a cool place away from the window to allow it to stay fresh longer.
If you love cheese, this recipe would be great with a baked mozzarella or burrato. If you have a cast iron pan, add some olive oil and the cheese and baked it for 10 minutes to add to this recipe. The tomatoes and cheese are a great addition to each other.
