Bachelor Recap: Episode 8 – Hometowns

Remember the good ole’ days when we didn’t know who the bachelor would be but WE HAD STILL TYLER C. AND MIKE TO CHOOSE FROM…. remember those days? Then it was announced that Peter would be the Bachelor and we thought it was a smart decision by the producers. Welp, once again America, we were wrong.

Episode eight truly showed us a different side of Peter. His choice of women is an enigma to me. Actually, maybe we are finally seeing his real side and that’s wanting an instagram girlfriend instead of a real wife. To recap, the final four girls are Kelsey, Hannah Ann, Victoria, and Madison. Let the hometowns begin!

The first hometown was in Knoxville, Tennessee for Hannah Ann. I completely forgot she was from Tennessee which is interesting to me because I’m going to Knoxville soon so I’ll keep you updated if we meet and become best friends!

The date started with Peter and Hannah doing the classic jumping into eachothers arms in a park. Then Hannah explains that her dad is a logger or lumberjack (like same thing) so Peter has to prove to her that he’s a real man. She takes him to an Ax Throwing place and we once again see how unathletic Peter really is (I miss Colten’s football b-roll).

He hits the wall once then chops some wood and instantly thinks he’s the next governor of District 7. All I was thinking about was how good Tyler C. and Mike would have looked doing that… a girl can wish.

They finally head home to Hannah’s family and low key I love them. But before that happens Peter gives her a letter about all the reasons he loves her… lol.

They all cried when Hannah Ann walked in and pretty much ignored Peter which I also loved. Ranger Rick aka her dad did not care at all that Peter was coming, which made me laugh out loud. I definitely want an exclusive interview with him after the final rose.

Hannah and her sister have a sweet conversation crying about how great Peter is. It was kind of cringy but it reminded me of Cassie and her sister on Colten’s sister.

When Peter talks to Hannah’s dad, his dad is very standoffish to the whole idea. Not that shocking since we see this a lot from dad’s on hometowns. He is just confused because Peter is also dating THREE other women.

Finally, the uneventful date ends and Peter tells Hannah he’s falling for her. She says she loves him and he makes her repeat it which is incredibly weird.

Next up, beautiful Des Moise, Iowa! Kelsey’s date is at a “winery” where they stomp on grapes. He’s making puns about their love being like a bottle of wine, “the perfect blend.” In reality he’s from California and has probably been to real wineries so this should have just been a huge foreshadow for us.

Peter meets her family and the biggest highlight is that he is trying crab rangoons for THE FIRST TIME EVER. I’m sorry like how has he lived this long without them????

She tells him she loves him and he says “he’s falling.” BS.

Now it’s time for Madison’s hometown in Auburn, Alabama. They go to Auburn University and go to the basketball stadium where Madi’s dad works. They play a quick game of one on one basketball before playing a long game of one on one with their tongues on the floor of the court.

Then they go meet her very religious family. I thought her brother was making a pretty good toast until I realized IT WAS HER DAD. He looked no older than thirty.

His one on one with Peter was very awkward. Madison talks to her mom about how she’s saving herself except doesn’t have the balls to tell Peter. It’s quite comical that she went on the Bachelor for a guy that is WELL KNOWN having sex four times in a windmill and thought it would work out.

FINALLY, we get Victoria (Full)er of Shit. From the previews we know this is about to be another classic Vic shit show. She takes him around Virginia Beach with her cute dog then we get HUNTER HAYES??!?!?!?

Of course out of all people, they get ANOTHER concert and this time with THE Hunter Hayes. Oh, and what song does he sing, I want crazy. On point producers, on point.

As they are leaving Peter’s ex approaches him when he’s alone. Her name is Merissa and she’s from Virginia Beach too. They dated back in 2012 when she lived in California or something. Anyways she’s a real person and she tells him to be careful with Victoria because she’s broken up relationships. I’ve been hearing about this rumor and I was surprised it was a part of the show. Reality Steve has also come out and said that he’s never had more negative stories sent to him about a contestant than he has with Victoria. Yikes!

Peter approaches Victoria and she doesn’t answer anything!! GIVE THIS GIRL A LAW DEGREE BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HOW TO DEFLECT!

Somehow being told that your girl BREAKS UP RELATIONSHIPS isn’t a red flag for Peter. This was the final straw for me with Peter.

At the rose ceremony Peter has the audacity to give Victoria a rose. Madison and Hannah Ann also get one which leaves Kelsey going home. Like I said, you don’t take a California man to a winery in the middle of Iowa.

Also, Victoria Fuller’s mugshot came out because she got a DUI. I can’t even.

What’s next? Fantasy Suites! Which means Madison has to finally confess she’s a virgin. The previews show her giving him an “ultimatum.” People are trying to compare this to Luke P from last season. He was incredibly condensing to Hannah and was also not a virgin. I think it’s really going to be about Madison’s delivery of the message.
Victoria is expected to throw some shade at Madison which I’m incredibly excited to see Madisons comebacks. I guess we’ll just have to buy some cheap wine and keep our Monday nights free to find out.
