Falafel

Falafel is a popular middle eastern dish that consists of chickpeas.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup Chickpeas Canned or Fresh
  • 1 cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1/2 Onion Red or White is fine
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 cup Flour

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  2. Cook your beans following label on can then drain
  3. Add all ingredients to food processor execpt flour.
  4. Once mixture is blended, pour into bowl and add flour
  5. Put in fridge for 1 hour
  6. Take out and form into balls or patties.
  7. For Baking: Bake Falafel in oven for 15 minutes
  8. For Frying: In a large skillet pour in oil a couple inches. When oil is heated add the falafel balls to the skillet by lowering them gently into the oil. Cook them for 2 minutes on each side
  9. Once they are cooled down, sprinkle salt over them and serve
